They Wish the Best for Me

I'm thankful that my parents wish the best for me. Although they really don't know what's best for me most of the time, especially so in an everyday aspect, but even though I might not always show it or give them credit for it, I know they wish the best in the long term and I appreciate it.

  1. I find that once you reach a certain age, the wisdom of your parents becomes clear. The hope for the best for all of us and now I see that enjoying life, being thankful is a state of mind..and parents know that if one keeps thinking that each day one must be thankful for the ability to breath, laugh, see and appreciate the small things that make life enjoyable and worth every minute...

  2. Very true. Although I think that to some the whole thankfulness thing comes earlier than to others, while to some it never comes at all... Just what I observed :)

  3. So very true, Julia..its' the mind that first has to see that being thankful exist. To see it in the mind and then feel it in the heart..are central to the process. For most, it takes a major event in their life to realize it...Boz Scaggs has a great song..for the Dig album..called" miss Riddle..."

  4. Or sometimes it takes the right kind of person to walk into their life and show it to them, although I guess it's still an event in life...

  5. So when was the last time someone has taken the time to say something to you that made you feel that "I'm thankful" for being alive. When was the last time you were that right kind of person who walked into someone's life and made them feel"thankful". I can remember several times in my life when I was both the giver and receiver of that gift..it is special to say the least....

  6. I honestly feel thankful a lot, on a daily basis. Sometimes it's for smaller things, sometimes it's something major. Just yesterday I received a text message from a very dear friend of mine and the words he said made me feel thankful for having me in my life, and those words that he said meant that he's thankful for having me in his. That is, if you need the exact date of when I last felt thankful for something major :) It is evry special indeed, and this freind of mine did save my life and keeps saving me on a regular basis still.

  7. It is a daily event that something that someone says or does can make you thankful. I got an e-mail from someone who reminded me of a time when we were traveling in Europe and how special two places we stayed made me thankful. Thankful that I could experience those places and thankful that she was with me and could enjoy being in those places. It's sometimes just those simple acts of daily living that one should be thankful...for as they say the alternative is not good....
