Sometimes it feels so good to be out of something soon enough. It was over long time ago basically, but only now do I fully understand what the hell really happened. And even though the new realizations make me feel a little disgusted and I find it all so sickening that it literary makes me feel sick to my stomach, I am thankful I was wise enough to get out of it fairly quickly and not bury myself in it even further.
Never let someone be your priority while you remain their option. - Authur Unknown
Amen! Hope everything's okay!
ReplyDeleteIt was a learning experience right? It made you stronger. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks, girls, I'm good :) And it was definately a priceless experience! I wouldn't have it any other way ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat's right! Think positive. Never settle for something who treats you disrespectfully.
ReplyDeletePaul, thanks. One of my male friends once told me something very similar and I've never forgotten the advice - 'never settle for anything less than you deserve'. Respect is crusial.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate, darling!

"Never settle for anything less than you deserve" great advice! That can apply to all areas of our life.
ReplyDeleteBo, I know, I am very thankful for the advice!
ReplyDeletegreat post darling!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you figured it out early!
ReplyDeleteBtw, thank you for your encouraging words on my blog yesterday. It means a lot :) Being thankful for what I have is the best solution. xoxo
I love you and your optimistic positive outlook on things. Your blog is a great `feel-good` blog and i`m definitely going to follow you! xo

The only thing for sure is that you took your lesson!thats something to be thankful of too!!!
ReplyDeleteso you have always to remember that everything happens for a reason...
You know, even when you realize he's a creep, this part can be hard. But like you said, be thankful you're not wasting another minute! Sending love from Florida!
ReplyDeleteWe talking about relationships?
ReplyDeleteIf so, then Amen.
But the good thing...those bad relationships teach you how to recognize the right one when you find it. :-)
@Shannon: I feel like I knew it from almost the very beginning, I just chose to ignore it maybe... So I can only blame myself, really :)
ReplyDelete@The Starving Stylist: Thank you!!! :)
@jeune_premier: Oh I'm a huge believer in the whole everything happenes for a reason thing! Indeed. I have no regrets :)
@Gropius: To me, the hardest part is that he's not even such a bad guy. Like I said before, I've never been involved with a jerk. I just feel he was irresponcible and everything could be so much nicer if he gave the clarity I was asking for right away and not kept me in the 'pending' mode lol
@Treacle: Yep, relationships. Exactly! That's why I am always thankful for all sorts of experiences :)
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR SUCH KIND WORDS!! :)
hope everything gets better for you!

Joei, it's all good, thank you :)
ReplyDelete"Never let someone be your priority while you remain their option."
ReplyDeletewow
That one takes a second to set in. Well, I'm glad you had a good sense of timing. It's okay to try a bad thing as long as you don't linger, right? I think a lot of people maintain bad relationships because of sheer momentum. I've heard Brando call it "the momentum of mediocrity."
PS. Your misspelling yesterday, and the ensuing comments, definitely made me smile :)
Amen to that quote. It took me a few years, but I finally learned that lesson and snagged someone who sees me as their ONLY option!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with you! You were lucky enough to know early!
ReplyDeleteGraham, "the momentum of mediocrity" is an interesting term. And I agree, good to try, esp. given that I did want to try lol
ReplyDeleteKristin, well done! ;-)
I want to add this Julia... don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. :-)
ReplyDeleteToxic relations are never good. Glad you got out!!

Leah, very true! Thanks :) Also reminded me of this other quote I love - "Don't cry when the sun is gone, because the tears won't let you see the stars"
ReplyDeleteAmber, thanks!
I am there with you. : )
ReplyDeleteSG, thanks!!
