Standing in line at one of the local pharmacies, I suddenly smelled some smoke... Thought it was weird, but as nothing seemed to be on fire, I just kept standing. The smell seemed to get a little heavier and the next thought that crossed my mind was that it's probably coming from a new comer who must had been a really nasty smelling smoker.
When a moment later the smell got seriously disturbing I had to turn around and I couldn't believe my own eyes - there was a guy standing in line with smoke rising from a ciggarette in his hand. The scene was so shocking to me (I wish I could've seen my own face at this time) that my brain didn't even give me a chance to think before I declared my "Woah! Young man! Are you serious?!. Standing in line at a PHARMACY and SMOKING?!. Couldn't you have done it outside before coming in?!."
I guess it was said in my most sincere manner and in my most disturbed voice with the most amused look in my wide opened eyes as the guy looked me in the eyes, said nothing and left immidiately. It's only a moment later when I saw his back in the doorway that the reality came back to me - speaking thoughtfully for the first time since my thinking was shuttered by shock, I could only remember to give away a loud and sincere "THANK YOU!!"
..OMG ..I absolutely hate cigarettes and everything about them ..that is just unreal to smoke in the line !!! sometimes people who walk in front of me smoke and that just make me feel sick , not even talking about mums pushing prams and cigarette in the mouth ..eeeek ..
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that here in the uk people can't smoke in restaurants etc ..
P.S ..you look so super cute in Prague picture and so tanned as well :)..Prague is beautiful city , hope you enjoyed every moment ..
ReplyDeleteThat is so inconsiderate! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteI hate it when people do that. :-( And it happens so often over here! Ughhh.
ReplyDeleteUhhg...cigarette smoke PUNISHES me!
ReplyDeleteGood for you to speak up.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for your thoughtful and encouraging words on my "depression" post. I truly appreciate that! And, no, it is not weird that you think those guys in the picture look like humanized mice...so funny!
:D Jade of pretty-dirt
Thank you for speaking up! I hate cigarettes too! And dread the thought of my baby being exposed to smoking...
ReplyDeleteThat was brave! I'm probably more the type of person to say those things in my head and never have it find its way to any actual verbal words. Strangely enough, I do have a memory of shouting, "smokings bad for you!" when I was a little kid to a couple that were smoking. LOL, I think I was braver then. :)
ReplyDeletehahha, oh my this might be the most wonderful one you have said yet!! Very honest because your initial reaction was (rightfully) disgust! But it shows how much you have taken away from this if you remember to even thank them, I love this.
ReplyDeleteps hah, your accent is not bad!! I didn't mean that at all and I guess I just assumed Russian but I realize now that I really don't know, just a guess :) And of course I am happy to see your succeeding with this! It was not a burden to listen to the interview at all, my pleasure.
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy!
ReplyDeleteWOW! So inconsiderate and so contradictory! Smoking in line at a pharmacy...jeez!
ReplyDeleteHallucinating !!!
ReplyDeleteWow I cannot believe someone had the audacity to smoke in line at the pharmacy. What was he thinking?! Sigh. It reminds me of a time when I actually saw a women smoking while pumping gas in her car. Not only was she endangering the lives of others with her second hand smoke, but she could have blown up the place in a second! :S
ReplyDeleteIck!

Brave... a lot of time I'd want to speak up for things like this encountered but am afraid ....well,... but sincere is the key whenever we really want someone do ourselves (or him/herself) a favor!!! ^^
