Do Better

During our lifetime we all meet all kinds of people and each one of them affects us differently. A lot of times unwillingly, even good people happen to bring out your worst side, leaving you feel stressed out over little things you shouldn't even worry about, because deep inside even you know you can do better than that... Knowing them is still a reason to be thankful, because you get a great opportunity to learn about yourself, but this post is for the people who bring out the best in you, silently, just by being in your life.

  5. This is an excellent entry! Sometimes it's the people who kindly pull us along with positive encouragement, and sometimes it's the people who are so hard on us and we hate them for it...but in the end, they both bring out the best in us if we see it the right way. Good one. Good thought!

  7. You present a very complicated idea, actually. I had to read it twice. I think we choose the people in our lives, consciously and subconsciously. Even the ones who make us feel negative are serving some purpose, which is part of what I think you're saying.

I guess I was left wondering what types of things you're stressing about. Do you mean things that we did and regret? Qualities about ourselves that we're working on?

  8. Yes, I believe everything happens for a reason and the people we meet are in our lives for a reason too. Not easy for me to really discuss things people regret, since I myself one of those who have no regrets, so it's more about one's personal qualities. I'm not sure how some people do that, but I realize with some of them I happen to stress a lot, worry about all sorts of things - you know, like loosing them, not saying the right thing, just getting moody/angry/nervous/frustrated when with them... being my worst self, so to say. And then there are people who never leave you that srressed out. Maybe it's because you now that even if you say something wrong they're not going to turn their back on you. Maybe that's the answer - trust, some common sense and mutal respect. Maybe. Or maybe it's because I can sometimes be what some call a mirror person - treat me wrong and I would subconsciously want to treat you that way back, thus everything resulting in one big sad mess. Hope it makes sense?

  9. Thank you so much for your comments!

We have sports lessons twice a week and depending on the seasons and the weather, we have different things that we do. But on the last sports lesson that I had, we went ice skating. Next sports lesson, I will probably go skiing like you said you do but I don't look forward to it because every time we go skiing at my school, everything becomes really cold and wet and I hate the snow.

    Many Hugs!

  11. Wow! That was the most thoughtful response I could have hoped for. Thanks for that.

I think the "mirror" idea is true for a lot of people, some more than others. I tend to mirror people's energy, so I know exactly what you mean. If someone is awkward, it can make you feel awkward also.

That must be why fun, confident, laid back people attract so many friends.

  12. Graham, a toughtful question requires a thoughtful response, and I am very fair ;)

Exactly! People who are easy to be with are indeed very attractive for spending time with! And I know what you mean about people's energy, for me it gets especially contagious if a person is all positive, energetic and upbeat. If they're the opposite I would usually get bored and angry and walk away in search of positivity, don't like letting others bring me down so easily lol
