Sibling existentialist conversations sounds amazing!!! I love the bond siblings have, and then add existentialism into the mix, well that is just the recipe for an amazing conversation :)
..my brother is younger than me so I am the big sister and I feel like I need to take care of him , the time we have together we usually just having a good laugh which is very good .. ..it's so wonderful when siblings have a good relationship , it is such a special connection .. have a lovely sunday dear : )
Leah, right intellectual! Not sure why I said "intelligent", will change it now! lol
heart charlie, well, I wouldn't say we have a bond... But it just makes these conversations all the more special.
Ellinelle, my brother is younger than I too :)
Arty, in all honesty, I wouldn't even call it us having such a good relationship - we have a decently good relationship, nothing too special. The conversations have just been happening for a long time. We don't seem to talk as much on other topics rather than something very serious :)
I love having those conversations with my boyfriend. Haha, I'm like Leah - I haven't had an intellectual conversation with any of my sisters, we talk about nonsense too haha.
I used to have really good intellectual conversations with my best friend (not so much anymore because he moved to Madrid for college), it was fun and personal since is not the type of conversation that you have with everyone. I forgot them but now that you mention them it really makes me miss them… I hope we can catch up with those conversations more often next time he comes to Colombia.
Aww that is definitely something to be thankful for. I can't remember (if ever) having an intellectual conversation with my little brother but he's quite a bit younger.
I love having a brother! Mine is 2 years older than me. We were friends when we were little, cordial in high school, never saw each other in college, and now we live down the street from each other and are super close. It's crazy what age does to siblings :) xo
totally!! My siblings are sometimes the most annoying but I would die without them. PS- I just realized I wasn't following you yet and remedied that. I was going down my blog list looking for the link and realized I hadn't hit it yet, so sorry!
Phil, I sure hope you and your friend get a chance to talk like that soon!
Elle, wait till het gets a little older then!! :)
Shannon, very true! Although for some reason I always thought it was easier to be freinds with your brother when he's older, because girls usually grow up faster. We used to fight a lot with mine when we were kids lol
Bo, goofy is also good!
Caitlin, oh get ready to have your dashboard flooded with my thankful ramblings... I still feel uneasy about updating every single day! lol And THANK YOU! :)
It's so rare to find someone to discuss those things with. Either people don't understand that type of thinking (existential or otherwise), or they understand and don't care. Lucky you to have someone near and dear to express your intellect with.
this is such a great idea. i find that being purposefully positive and thankful really does brighten up any day. sometimes its just hard to remember that when a day is particularly cloudy and gray :) glad to have found you. www.littlegirlshinyworld.com
Graham, you are so right about this - sadly there are more people out there like that than those who do understand and care. But maybe that's why when you happen to find soemone you treasure it so much.
Rachel, thank you very much for such warm words!! :)
if there's one thing that i miss now that i'm married is those conversations...since i've moved out with my wife i don't have the time to have all night long talking with my bro...but though i'm thankful too for all those chats we had in the past!
I appreciate you taking the time to connect and share your thoughts, so thank you for your comment! And while you're at it... Why not tell me what you're thankful for today? ;-)
Keep it under 300 will ya? Lol
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet. I haven't had an intellectual conversation with my siblings in a long time. We are mostly talking nonsense. Hahaha! xoxo

Not many siblings have such a good relationship, so it's good to hear you that you do.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday Julia. Hugs.
Amen.

Cool.
ReplyDeleteDon't let the lifetime or anyone change that, you both have to preserve these moments of complicity!
Not so common I think.

ReplyDeleteGuillaume, thanks! Definetly not too common I guess! Makes you thankful, really.
ReplyDeleteAudrey, it's awesome that you guys are so in tune! Personally, I think it's one of the most important aspects in a relationship.

For some reason, brothers always give surprisingly deep and spot-on insights. :-)

I'm an only child, but I've spent many a night wishing I had an older brother.

ReplyDeleteTreacle, I used to really want to have an older brother too... Now I'm fine with whatever I have :)
ReplyDeleteJP, doesn't have to be an all night conversation... I think even a little intellectual chat can have big benefits :)
