To People That Were

Maybe sometimes it's just high time certain people in our lives go or be let go of. It's not always easy to part ways with those who were once dear to you or see them drift away, but I guess it's just the way life goes. Not all friends are meant to stay close forever. I still believe that everything happens for a reason, and for the good times and genuine moments that were, I am thankful.

  1. This is such a sweet blog! And this is an incredible sentiment. It's hard not to harbor bitter feelings when things fall apart, but you're right: there's always good memories to be thankful for!

  2. It's a sad feeling to let go/be let go. But you're right, at the end of the day, we should always be thankful for all the good times. =)

  3. It's difficult to know when friendships should evolve or end, and even more difficult to make the break if that's what you decide to do. There is a magnetic attraction between all of us, and recognizing and acting on the changes in polarity makes life smoother. I guess the key is not to push or pull, but to recognize the natural change.

  4. Oh Julia, how right this is. Times and circumstances change and so do people along with these changes. It's inevitable and a part of our lives. We just move on with the pleasant memories.

  7. True!
To my mind, the most important thing is the connections we have each others. I mean, like a link (can be symbolized by a cord) between two persons. This connection is eternal, because of what you said, genuine moments shared with peoples, and so on...
I think that's what it stay always in us! Even if the cord was cut...
Moreover, it's one reason I love your blog : it create good links! :)

  8. ..hello darling
for me friendship is something to cherish because good friends are only few , you know the friends who will be there for you 'for better and worse' ..as I moved abroad I felt so lost because I left everything behind me , but I still have the real friends but few of course are long gone ..
my very good friend recently moved to italy and she send me text other day 'now I know what you ment by having a friend there for you ' , well you can have random friends but the real soulmates you just can't pick now and then ..it is hard to became like strangers with some people you been close once .
.. also there is different 'type' of friends ( if I can say like that ) , like school friends , work friends , childhood friends ...I have some scool friends I have not seen ages but can talk with them like in old times without the time difference ..anyway , I hope all this don't sound too messy : )

thanks for your lovely comment ..you should wear your Pierre Hardy more often , they not just the random ones to keep them in closet : ) and I'm sure they look wonderful with denim shorts ..
    have a lovely weekend Julia

  9. Yes.. it's so true. A few days ago I contacted my friend with whom I just suddenly had lost contact. For more than a year we didn't see neither talk.. and then I called her, I thought I can't lose us. I was happy, she was happy, it was as if we had just chatted yesterday. That's what's the real friendship all about!

But ofcourse.. life isn't so simple all the times..

  14. I agree with you. I believe in the saying that people come to your life for a purpose. If that purpose is done, they'll have go. Only few friends are meant to stay. You shouldn't get hurt if some friends are to go, that just mean their purpose in your life is done.

I've got many and plenty of really good and adoring friends that I had to let go. This was basically due to my nomadic way of life while growing up and the person that I became to. But even if they're gone, I still treasure them and think of them at times. But they'll never know. :)

P.S. I added you to my blogroll. Would love if you can link back :)

  17. What a beautiful post. It takes someone with insight and incredible maturity to be appreciative for the lovely and cherished times with the people in our lives instead of resenting an ending or fading relationship. Thank you for reminding me of that.

  19. I fully agree Julia. When I was younger, I had tons of friends. But the older I get, I'm noticing the numbers decrease. Yet the friendships I held on to are stronger. Fewer friends with deeper connections is the way to go :) xo
