Genes

I'm thankful for my genes. When I think of the personality traits me and my parents have in common, I always feel like I've only taken the best my mom and dad had to offer in terms of temper, habits and such. The mix makes me a very contradictory person at times, but I kind of like this about myself, so I really don't mind. I'm also thankful I didn't inherit some of their traits I personally don't like, ha.

  1. I'm thankful for genes, too. My dad passed away before I had children, so I cherish the genetic traits that have shown up in them which remind me of my dad. I tell them they have their grandpa's hair color, or his long fingers, and it makes us happy that there is a connection still.

  2. I'm thankful that my children have gotten some of the best of me and my husband and much of the "bad" stuff has been lost somewhere in the genetic stew.

As an adult it is easy for me to see the good and the bad things I inherited from my parents.

I love the idea of this blog.

Every parent would like his kid to take the best of him.

  12. haha Julia- I want details! What did you extract from them that you liked?? I'm thankful for my genes in some areas and not in others. I'm thankful for my ability, willingness, acceptance and desire to work hard in my career which I definitely got from my Dad. I'm also thankful for my supportive tendencies and respect and care for the underdog which I definitely got from my Mom. On the flip side- I have my Mom's tendency to be a bit messy and my Dad's tendency to hold in feelings! goes both ways I believe :) Also- be grateful for the genes you got in your looks because you are simply gorgeous dahhhling :)
