How About You Thank Your Favorite Server?

Or bartender, or barista, or mechanic, or librarian, or shop assistant, or beautician or God knows who else you might want to thank. The point is, some of the people in the service industry are just so amazing that a 'thank you' and a tip just don't feel like enough. And I mean, how many times in a row can you actually say 'thank you' to your waiter on a single visit for it not to seem odd?

A while back someone complimented me on my blog (thank you!), I followed the link back to his, then via his twitter I discovered an interesting app, then later I realized he was involved in the making of this app... To make a long story short, it's the ultimate thankful app!

You get great service somewhere, you open We&Co, you press "thank". The server can thank you back or even offer a freebie... Or maybe you can even help your server get a raise if he/she becomes one of the most thanked! A way to promote a business by putting the emphasis on its people.

Do read more about the We&Co app in this article on my beloved good.is and in the write up here.

P.S. Just remembered how my funny grandma once jokingly said to my mom - "you can have your 'thank you' for lunch". If she was tech savvy enough, maybe she'd enjoy using the app to add a little extra to her 'thanks', ha!

  4. That's an awesome concept! I served my way through college and saw firsthand just how little servers are appreciated!

  5. Definitely, though I am always very gracious to Servers and say 'thank you' all the time, this would be a great way to really hone that in. Now that I have an iPhone, I'll definitely be checking this out! Especially if it helps them get noticed by their boss!!

Nice Grandma, haha. I love sayings like that, especially when they're said by beloved snarky Grandparents!!

  9. I love the concept of this app. Especially as I'm in the middle of the move and dealing with so many different services--gas, electricity, internet, etc. and some have fabulous customer service, and some don't. I would like to reward the nice people with a thank you!

  10. My mom always said, A Simple Thank You Will Suffice. But in this day and age, a little technology steps it up:).

  14. I wish there was an app for people to remind them to say thank you when you hold the door open for them...

Coincidently the people who don't say thank you are often the ones that never hold the door open for anyone else....

  15. I always make it a point to thank waiters, guards, salesladies, etc. While it is their job to serve, it wouldn't hurt to make them feel better about their day by thanking them ;)

Thanks for sharing the app! Will check it out.
