So within the series of my thankful posts on my most favorite songs and music videos I've already given thanks to Coolio and Lenny for the two of my all time favorite tracks - these have definately proven their worthiness to me by staying in the favorite category for a long long time now. Today I want to say thank you for one of my most favorite music videos ever - the video for John Legend's 'Save Room'. In this particular case, it was exactly the video that made me like the song. They go perfectly together too, I can just watch it over and over and over... Probably because it includes a lot of my favorite things and one action just 'flows' into another... I even have the actual pretty HQ video saved on my computer... Love it!

Here comes a secret: I don't like John Legend! I don't know why. I want to like him so bad and I can see his talent completely and totally get why people like him but his music is just not a vibe I can get into! I have no idea why! Coolio though? Natch. :)
ReplyDeleteCaitlin, I know what you mean, it happens :) I can't say I'm a fan of all his music, basiclly, I only really like 2 songs, but I LOVE his voice and he just seems to have a greta personality somehow. Although I've never met him so who knows :)
ReplyDeleteWow...Coolio, now there's a name I haven't thought of in ages! Thanks for reminding me...
ReplyDeleteBradford, you're welcome :)
ReplyDelete"Love hurts sometimes / when you do it right"
ReplyDeleteGreat lyric.
I've never seen this before. So tell me: Is he supposed to be a dog in this video, or are we seeing all the women who have dumped him?
Yep, I love the lyrics in this one too! Graham, honestly, I don't know for sure... I find myself viewing it diffirently depending on my mood, but taking the song's lyrics into consideration I think it's more like the women in the video represent his failed attempts at relationships. It looks like it's all good in the end though, because there's someone waiting for him... What do you think? :)
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. Based on the ending, those are probably failed relationships.
ReplyDeleteBut is a relationship that ends necessarily a failure? Nevermind... that's a whole other topic!
Ah no, not at all :) I don't really view it this way. I say 'failed' in this case because according to the song's lyrics he's asking them all to stay and runs after each one of them. When one has to beg for the other not to leave, well, maybe the whole thing wasn't so successful after all. But I could be wrong :) Or maybe I'm just being a perfectionist in thinking (and believing) that two people can just naturally grow apart and decide to break up still remaining friends...
