Time Out for the Eye

I was thinking, I've been really busy lately with work and personal projects, having to spend a lot of time in front of the computer at work and then in front of my laptop at home... I'm glad and thankful that the friend's birthday party in the suburbs that past weekend gave me such perfect opportunity to have some time away from the computer screen. Even if it's just one computer free evening and one morning away from it the next day, it's still good for the eyes.

  2. You should sleep a little, it's the better cure! Furthermore your eyes would be closed ;))

  3. Yes, I totally agree! It gets insanely tiring to keep staring at screens constantly... and you lose so much time! Remember when we were young and playing outside was the highlight of our days? We have a good number of elementary-high school kids in my block and I hardly ever see them playing outside. There's something to be said about good, down and dirty fun in the sun!

  4. Same here! If I'm not on the computer at work, then I'm on the laptop at home, and if not that then I'm on the iPhone! Lol it's bad.

  5. Oh you are right. I think we actually don't realize HOW MUCH TIME we spend (and quite often waiste) infront of the computer.. So it is a really nice change to go out and socialize with people in the real world:D Or even just to watch a movie at home, or to read a book.. or to cook something delicious. I think we'd to all of it more in the absence of the internet.. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of this!
    ;) Thanks

  6. Guillaume, oh sleep is the best remedy for basically everything, true that!

YJ, sad indeed. I think parents should really be on the lookout for how much time their kids spend staring at all sorts of screens, but some just don't seem to care. I hate it when kids before 3 even get a little exposure to TV.

I am Khatu, exactly... I'm the same. Well, at least I've been trying to spend the time in front of all teh technology productively lately.

Café Naïveté, true about us not even always realizing this! The screen world consumes us too easily lol

  9. Eyes are a good thing to be mindful of. Glad you got some time away from the 'ole screen. It can distort one's perception--literally--when you sit with it for too long!

  14. Absolutely...I find myself having to peel away from the computer (time really does fly when you're working on what you love) but everyone needs a break sometimes.
