City Boat Trips

Even if boat trips I seem to like so very much usually allow for a more fantastic scenery and more fun activities once it's an open seas trip, I've realized city boat trips can be just as much fun. So if I can't travel to a seaside destination just yet, I'd take the best boat trip the Moscow River has to offer and be thankful for it! P.S. All above links lead to picture posts and if you love water themed photography I suggest you take a look!

Boats & Boat Trips

Now I need to mention that neither me nor my family own a boat or that I even have those boat trips often, but I love them. There's something about a harbor with lots of different boats and yachts moored to it that I find very alluring.

I'm thankful for harbor lights at night, for modern boats incredible designs, for amazing things such boat trips allow us to see...

It's So Cool Hearing From You

What are you thankful for today? The curiosity is inspired by a fellow thankful person Polina D. who shared her words of thanks on the TTYP Facebook page recently (Thanks, Polina!). Just read how beautiful:

I had a 1hr totally useless stroll this morning and for a second I felt like I could smell the sea! It was this amazing salty, fishy kind of smell that put a huge smile on my face because I instantly thought of all the countless summer days I had spent fishing on a boat, swimming for hours, roasting mussels and eating tons of sea urchins. I remember my Dad helping me navigate the boat and that funny captain who would always sail with us was watching me and calling me a pirate... You know, these memories make my eyes teary... and it's not because it's all gone, but because it really happened to me. And for that I am grateful.

Are You Ready to Jump?

While I'm at the subject of boat trips, I want to say thank you for the kind of photography such trips allow! As if taking pictures of breathtakingly beautiful waters all around you (like I took on my trip to Tiran Island in Egypt) is not enough, one can take absolutely amazing shots of fellow boat trip companions. I, myself, am not into jumping off boats (or most other water activities or sports for that matter), but I love taking photos of those who are into it, and it looks like I'm not too bad at it, eh?..

Water!

I feel so thankful now for making it to the final 17 in the GOOD's Water Picture Show contest! And not just because being featured was something I dreamt of ever since I joined their website a year ago, but even more so for reminding me to give it up for water! I am sincerely amused I haven't yet done so until today. There were thanks for the sea world, for boat trips, for swimming pools, for bubble baths and showers even... High time I devote a thankful post to clear waters and the staple of life - drinking water! Please take a look at all the amazing water photography submissions HERE, and, if you like what you see, vote for my picture! To vote you need to leave a comment saying you're voting for photo #9 by Julia Osovskaya. Out of all people, you know I am the one who would be truly thankful, right?...
P.S. For more of my photos from the series entered for the contest, you can check out this thankful post or take a look at the event on Facebook.

Still on Egypt

Thinking of it now, I realize I'm really thankful to Jenia, who I met during my Egyptian vacation in the spring of 2008, for making me go on that Tiran Island boat trip. I remember I really didn't feel like going, mostly because I so wasn't looking forward to spending the whole day with him... But he needed company for the trip and wanted to go so badly, and was so good to me all the time that I just decided to return the favor and be nice back, and well, guess what, I never regreted going! The place was truly amazing! I don't think I've seen water of such astonishing colors and all in one place before! I still remember those sights in all their glory and highly recommend it to everyone.
